On a more personal level...
Hello! My name is Farid Yusof and I am the founder and lead designer for Faridunia Studio. I am also an artist and I mostly use my soul and intuition to guide my work.
Particularly drawn to art in the theme of spiritual growth, sexual & gender expression and personal authenticity, my work mostly stem from my own personal experience, thoughts and observations on life from the perspective of a marginalized queer person with ASD who grew up in a conservative Islamic state.
In 2013, I quit my flight attendant job and with only my backpack, tent and sketchbook, I left “home” and started trotting around the globe moving between cities, villages and communes hoping to find somewhere I could fully feel home.
What I didn’t realize was that wandering alone, lost through foreign countries with barely any money looking for a place to call home isn’t as romantic as I had imagined. It requires deep inward journey into yourself.
This started my deep personal journey towards inner healing which eventually led to my work as a spiritual development and meditation coach. This continued for some years before exclusively refocusing my energy back to my true love of creating art.
Although I still identify first and foremost as an artist, my love for art, creation, storytelling and personal healing has led me to this work (that I absolutely love) today — A designer and branding guide for healers, changemakers and lightworkers.
Now I find home in my most favorite city in the world, Istanbul, Turkey where I live with my partner, dog, 2 cats and many houseplants. I mostly focus time and love towards my work, art, gardening, cooking and dog walks.
I am very grateful for where life has taken me in my life, in my personal development and in my career. I am so thankful that I get share what I love to do with the world and with you.
